I'm here, at home

I came home 2nd June without telling anyone in my family except my little brother, who came to train station to help me get my stuff home. The train journey was about 18hours, it went pretty good except the sleeping part. I found it hard to relax when you are laying down and the train is leaning right or left, it feels like you gonna roll over like a cartoon movie :D

It really feels good to be at home, too bad I don't have a summer job. I feel kind of restless. However, I got my tax money back so I have little to do stuff with. I bought a 3 month gym card at the gym in the same street, where my brother is working out. Been there a couple of times, I used to run a bit before I came to back to Stockholm and I really feel it when I warm-up with 15min either running (about 10km/h) or cycling without resting or dying afterward!

I went to see a couple of movies at cinema. Started out with Prometheus, The Avengers and finally Snow white and the huntsman. All of them are really great!
I need to loan a good camera to take better pictures of my jewelleries, I'm going to put prices on Etsy, Facebook and DeviantArt so I can sell them :)

Week 21

Haven't posted for a while, mostly because I've been busy with a lot of homework. There was a lot of stuff for this week and for next week. The ones this week went ok I think, so there's only three tests left for next week: practical gemology (how to identify different gems with tools), gemology theory (a test of different words used in gemology) and last is the final book chapter in gem-a foundation.

I have also started to make a pair of earrings with sappghires and a pendant for a friend.
 I don't know why but my blog changed the site from blogspot.com to blogspot.se so my videos doesn't work anymore.. So I might re-post some because I like them really much :)

Here's some work I finished yesterday. First out is the one I call "Mother's Lost Pendant", it's a labradorite cabochon and a faceted blue/green sapphire.
Unfortunely this one will not be for sale! Click on pictures to enlarge them.

The second one is called "Carnelia's Bracelet". I know have might have bad fantasy sometimes about names but it's seven carnelians.

 Next up is a faceted amethyst pendant and a pair of earrings.

Week 17

The workshop was open 17-21 this week, although that I should've been there more I was quite tired. Started on every labradorite, almost finished with one and started on my carnelian bracelet :)

Sorry for not updating for a while, it's because I had my second Gem-A foundation test this week and I got 32/33 =)
I also still have some stones to grind for my stone course :/
Tho I have sketched a lot. As soon I'm finsihed with those and got into my new courses I will make more jewelry :)
Also got 4 on my metal course (U G 4 5 as 5 is best).

Been buying a lot of gems, so I should stop now when I got plenty :)

Week 12

I just finished my last exam works yesterday. I made a new signet ring because the original one was a bit bad when I tried to fix some stuffs but it got worse instead.
I didn't find my half round ring so I decided to make a new one earlier this week, it feels quite good because I'm happy with the result.
Probably getting the results at the end of next week.

Two new courses starting next week, some kind of economy and gemology course.
I still have the stone grinding course left, so I gotta finish it off as soon as possible.
Otherwise I'm little bit tired of being here. Don't misunderstand me because I'm happy here but I kind of miss being in town, where I can choose to do stuffs around more.
Like being with more people, meet more people. My classmates are nice but you know, you sometimes just want to be with other.
It seems like I want to be with some people more than they want to be with me. It feels like some kind of unfair connection, when they can do whatever they want but when I do the same I get shit for it. It's sometimes like that, but I'm little tired of it.

Somehow, I have decided to move to a smaller house with two rooms, a shared kitchen/living room and toilet with a classmate. It's cheaper and you can have the distance to people and when you want to be with them you can just go back to the bigger house living room or invite them to you.

Today we had a snow scooter outing with a lot of people from the village invited, we drove like 15min away to a lake and grilled hot dogs, burgers and other stuff.
It's really nice with such happenings instead of sitting in the room doing nothing, the weather was clear and we had a really good time :)

I forgot to post about my newest creation. I don't know what to call it so I just call it Almadine because of the stone plus rose because it's a rose. Almadine Rose sounds quite ok.

It's my last work, I just have to finish my signet ring and.. I lost my half round ring, so I have to find it or make a new one T_T

Week 10 Part 2: Weekend

I went to dinner with some class mates at another class mate house. We splitted up the making so one made the meat, two made the potatoes and I made the dessert.
The dessert I made was blueberry swiss (I think it's called so) which is crème fraiche, cream, chocolate and blueberry that you put in random layers.
The dinner was pretty nice, five people eating and talking about anything. We also drank red wine during the meal.
We went to the house to prepare the food around 17:45 and it took longer to get done than I thought.

We started to watch swedish eurovision after we were done, we started to eat the dessert about half way into the contest because we were so full. The right winner won which is Loreen with her song "Euphoria", I was a little bit scared when Danny was so close before the final scores was announced. Not only because I don't like him but his song wasn't better than Loreens.

After the song contest I went back to our house with a class mate to leave some stuffs and take some other stuffs. We loaned "Jurassic Park" from another class mate so we could watch it at our friend house which we did.
But as soon as we started we got company from a class mate boyfriend and other class mates, so we watched movie and talked, the sofa got kinda full XD

Week 10 Part 1: Aventurine complete

My aventurine necklace is finally completed, it took my around one week of work to get that done. I modified a little bit here and there, so it's a bit different from the original sketch. But I believe every change have been good.
I think the leaf was too big for that design so I decided to use it later for another jewelry instead. The necklace itself gave me
a light look which I wanted to, therefor I changed to a smaller leaf with a style like those 2 ones on each side of the top.
The settings really messed with me, they just didn't wanted to work, so I will need to fix them to make them 100% but the stones are there..

So now.. I will start with my last exam jewelry, which I started to make a flower (looks like a rose) with couple of smaller parts I will solder. Afterward a tube setting will be placed in middle with a garnet.

I don't know if it gonna be a necklace, pendant or ring yet.

Another thing, I don't have a name for my aventurine necklace yet, any ideas?

Week 9 Part 2: Workshop

I have been at the metal workshop from wednesday to friday from 8-17. This week made me feel like I'm very slow at working, it feels like I get nothing done although I'm working nonstop.
I haven't really continued my signet ring, I choosed to make a small signet and seems like it's harder to make plain than a big signet. Because the corners is so easily touched and pushed, then it goes down a little at the corner..

I liked my last cabochon work "Forestwalk at night" but I don't feel like it's even close to my current potential so I decided to make a new cabochon exam jewelry.
It's a necklace with 6 settings with 3 different sizes of aventurine. I like the forest, it gives me so much inspiration so I'm starting with some jewelry with that concept.

My last exam work for this metal course will be a jewelry with self chosen amount of tube settings (rörinfattning), I was thinking about making a St Bernards Lily or Calla Lily. Let's see how that turns out.

Week 9 Part 1: Theory at LTU

My class had lab lesson in metalworking at Luleå University of Technology. It's about 4-5 hours by car and the lesson started about 13.00 on monday, so we were on our way to Luleå at 07:00.
The car I went with wanted to go off a little bit earlier so we could eat lunch calmly, and maybe do something else. The lesson was from 13.00 to 18.00, those who was going to stay at hostel over the night hooked up. We went to the hostel afterward to put our stuffs there and went to later to a thai restaurant for dinner.
It was a really nice group, really enjoyable dinner.

We started 08:00 next day and ended about 14.00. The lessons we had these two days was really interesting, we saw by eye and microscope, we also saw real laser printing and sawing.
After that those who wanted went to a shop who sell everthing but the owner was a stone collector once and still had a lot of stones/gems for sell. I bought a couple a agate and moss agate (I love agate), blood stones and a rutile quartz.

Came home about 19.00, these two days was really tiring. Sweetly enough we only have these days once or twice a season..

Forestwalk and Imperial Amethyst

Two of my latest creations.

This one is called "Forestwalk at night" and is inspired by the feeling of walking along a road at night beside the forest.
The lamppost lightening in front of where you going, you can see the trees and fallen leaves.

Next one is "Imperial Amethyst" because of the fantasy empire feeling.
I actually designed the the pendant without setting with amethyst at first, for another my first metal course. Then we learned at the new metal course how to do a stone setting, suddenly I felt my old work being so empty.
I was mixing with couple of ideas and amethyst suited this design well.

Week 6

Been having cleaning week in both metal workshop and stone workshop this week, haven't much to do tho since other people actually bother cleaning after themselves.
I have been at the metal workshop a lot this week, still haven't been in the stone workshop yet..
But I'm done with a lot in metal, I've finished my halfround ring, simple stone setting pendant and own designed jewellery (I made a pendant) with a stone setting and 5 solderings. Still have to do another ring, setting with faceted stone (straight-sided setting) then I'm done with the metal and got to start with the stones.

I will hopefully take some pictures today and upload them here later.

It's not cold.. it's only snowy?

I have been here for so long and yet I haven't said much about the weather. There's a lot of snow up here in the north and it's pretty cold, I might get a shot so you can see how much snow it's here :D
Well, here's a screen from a weather-site.



Although it's around -30 the cold is dry in the north, you can more or less have normal winter clothes.
I did say that -10 in Stockholm is worse..

Society have always been unfair, one of the reasons is taking the "best/strongest" to make the society stronger. The cost of this have always been life, something like "for a greater good needs sacrifices" because of fast changes makes societies to develop faster.
Someone will always fall behind in "value" because the societies need different skills during different times, although we can even the differences a lot more, we don't.
What if everyone had the same access to everything, why would someone do something most people don't want to? They do that today because they must, because our society is formed to be like that.
If you compare us with rest of the world where people have better and worst than us, the global difference can easily be changed aswell. But it doesn't because of every person individual "value" for the world.
As long you don't let people choose, the equation of "act -> consequence" will be easier to predict.

It's exactly the same in our society as in this movie, the only exception is that we die slower when we run out of money.
In the third world "time = life", if someone in the family gets sick, we need to invest time to cure than work.
In our society we just put money into this to confuse, it makes us blind by "giving" us power that the ones in the top controls anyway. When people starts to get more money they make things more expensive to keep it balanced.

First excursion!

My class went to our first excursion, first we went to a esker some miles away.
The teacher wanted us to pick up so many different minerals as possible and try to identify them, then we used mining pick and hammer for the first time (the stones are so much harder than they look)

I climbed pretty high, it's more steep than it looks like!
If you extend the size then you might see a guy almost at top with red jeans (that's me)



We went to another place nearby to see some rare formed stones.

August 30

Some days ago I went to the forest with three classmates, two of them picked some mushrooms while I was looking after funny rocks. I found a lot of quartz, epidot and feldspar.
We also found two frogs at different locations.

We went back to the reindeer skeleton to check the quality of the skull and horns but the quality was worse than I remember so I decided to not pick it with me, while looking around we saw the jaw at left inside the forest.
We decided to go there and we found a place with a lot of big stones and a lot of reindeer horns but they were too old and broken.
Still, this place was strange, calm and beautiful, I guess it's some kind of favorite place to drop horns.

Went into the nearby forest for the first time with a friend, the view is really amazing.

School is starting tomorrow with some geology theory and we are taking our first adventure into the wild on friday.

Not north enough.

I thought I couldn't get into other programs since I only got the diet one and being reserve on all others, but I can be wrong.
I got into Gem Stone Engineering and Design at Luleå Tekniska Universitet but I am going to study even further north of Kiruna in a town called "Lannavaara". They have all the resources there so I am living there.

I really forward to this, I will learn a lot about smelting, prospecting and gem/stone engineering and designing :)

Way out North

I got into Umeå University program "Diet Planner", it's a three years program about diet habits of populations, economy, enviroment and health.
I might also get into a profession academy in Luleå, the program is called "Rail Designer", this one teach you about railways, transport and communication.
I'm also being reserved for some other programs and I haven't decided what to really take just yet. But it feels like I'm going north.

Oh Gackt, what have you done..?

I went to Gackt concert in Stockholm at tuesday, I really looked forward this day.
I met with some friends, haven't seen couple of them for a while.
We came to the place around 18:15, we stood in que for around an hour before we got inside. I wanted to buy a t-shirt which I usually do when I go to concerts, for the first time in my life the shirts was so ugly so I couldn't buy it.
It had a skeleton chicken logo in the red, the shirt was black and above the chicken it was printed "Yellow Fried Chickenz".. I was like.. it says yellow but the shirt is red and black (it wasn't printed GACKT anywhere on the shirt).

We waited almost another hour before he, Gackt, finally came.
The introduction of the concert didn't hit me at all, it was stiff, so false.
This almost disappeared but with his endings of ending after each song made it feel so tiring, so annoying. All people who were there respected and loved him so much already and still he needed this unending ego boost when he wanted people to scream after every song while he made some dramatic moves, dude, you don't need to do same thing over and over again (around 10-15min each time).. I mean wtf, seriously, after every song?
And this sidekick whos name I don't care to remember, don't take him with you, please? I could understand if he was backup vocal, standing somewhere at back but sharing front with Gackt!? He really sang half of the songs, I didn't pay to see him and listen to him aswell?

Not to overreact but this was the worst concert I have ever experienced.
And I need to troll, there's a new word worst than worst it's.. gackt.
Trollolol..

I miss this feeling when you seem to know what you need, what you are.
But I feel pretty well right now, without any of this.
I see it from the "good" side, I might fall in love again? :P

Uh..

Oh yes, I have forgot to update for a while. Mostly because I nowadays work from 10am to like 11pm every day except monday. And when I'm finally at home I just watch some movie and then fall asleep, I haven't really think about to update, always in mind like "I do it tomorrow" and then tomorrow become tomorrow and so on.
I went to watch latest Harry Potter movie with my parents this monday, it's kinda awesome and some parts of me wants more but then I realize that part 1 is much better made than part 2.
Part 1 felt so realistic, so near, really well done. But the part 2 felt too much like "it's the final, battle, battle, Voldemort died".

Recap: 5 July

Finally I got to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon, I was going to watch this movie at the premier but I "spontaneously" went to Roskilde Festival instead. I almost watched this movie in Copenhagen, that's how much I wanted to.
I went with Z and we were quite late but the movie didn't start yet, was delayed with about 15min (not my fault :P). This movie is more action, half the movie is a battle.
I like the new transformers and my all-star favorite is Shockwave, it almost feels like he's the main badass in this movie :)
If you have watched the first two parts then you got to watch this one aswell, you will like it.

I survived Roskile Festival.

If you don't know I have been at Roskilde Festival for last 5 days, from wednesday 21:00 until today 09:00. It been a fantastic experience except the extreme switching between heavy rain and unclouded sun, and the sick prize for stuffs over there.
It usually feels like I complain about a lot of stufs but you don't know how it been there :P
It was non-stop sun without clouds or so heavy rain that the ground became 6-8cm mud of DOOM. The prize for a meal of food cost around 60-85 danish and the food was really sucky, not even meeting normal standard at all, I was really disappointed (don't say: it's a festival because I have been at a couple and the food was cheaper and better.)
Randomly my group started talking to two norwegians in the que at the festival entrance, we shared camp with them and these guys were so awesome. Another thing to mention, why do like 80% of all danish people dislike swedes!? I'm sorry but I can't understand what you say, we aren't dumb because we did understand norwish -.-

I found some new good music like PJ Harvey, Portishead, Yelle, Ghost. I also saw some I already knew like Bad Religion, My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, The Strokes, Soilwork. Unfortunely I missed out Lykke Li because I went to Autopsy, and that's not really my music style :P

Recap: 17 June

My cousin K asked me earlier that week if I wanted to watch Super 8 with him and maybe some frieds, I'm a movie/cinema-freak so I said yeah XD
We ended up as four. It was me, K, Hassan (a friend of K and mine) and another girl friend of K, who I don't remember the name (sorry).

Super 8 was a relaxing movie about some kids filming a movie they wanna send to a upcoming movie festival.
One night they decides to film at a small train station nearby and all of a sudden a passing train crashes, in fear they runs home meanwhile the military force comes.
Soon enough mysterious and unexplainable actions happens all around their town like people and stuffs disappearing. There's only one question, what was in that train?
A beautiful made, easy but detailed movie.

We went to a nearby restaurant called "Pong" with more of their friends (a lot of people!), we talked, ate and some singed karaoke. Sadly they closed at twelve and my cousin and Hassan decided to go home which I decided too even I wanted to stay out longer. I called around a little but didn't catch anyone except L who was on their way to Pub Anchor.
I wasn't too sure about that and I thought they were there already, but randomly I walked past a train at Slussen and guess who sat at the window I walked past? :D
I joined with L and his twin brother to Pub Anchor, I met some of their friends there but we decided to go home around two when the they started to play really bad music really loud.
A really successful day, it was a funny and spontaneous day.

PS. By random we started to talk about Gackt and L told me he was coming to Sweden :D
